Remember these four steps

If there is a fire, here's your superpower.

Practice these simple actions with a grown-up so they're easier to remember.

01

Hear the alarm

If a smoke alarm sounds, take it seriously. Start your escape.

02

Get low & go

If there's smoke, stay low as you move toward a safe exit.

03

Get out, stay out

Go to your safe meeting spot. Never go back inside.

04

Call 911

Once you're safely outside, tell 911 there is a fire.

In a real emergency, leave immediately. Never spend time on a website or quiz instead of escaping.

Try it right now

One tiny question.
One important lesson.

Imagine that you're asleep and the smoke alarm starts beeping loudly because it detects smoke. What should you do?

Why this community exists

She lost her home at 12.
At 16, she's creating something hopeful.

On November 19, 2022, a house fire changed Esther Sur's life. Her family lost their home and belongings. After years in small temporary spaces, they have finally been able to return home.

Today, Esther is turning what she experienced into a mission: help kids learn the safety lessons she wishes every family already knew, and build support for the firefighters who serve our communities.

Check your alarms

Test smoke alarms monthly. Working alarms give your family more time to escape.

Give heaters space

Keep blankets, curtains, and other things that can burn at least three feet away.

Stay by the stove

When an adult is cooking, stay with the food and keep the area clear.
